1: What excites you about your job?
I’m genuinely excited to walk into the office each day. Every moment brings a new challenge, whether it’s crafting solutions, connecting with customers or creating innovative products that support our customers’ needs. Our workplace is a hub where bold ideas come to life.
2: What does the phrase ‘where wild ideas work’ mean to you?
It signifies a place of creativity and innovation. It’s about pushing beyond conventional limits and nurturing an environment where every imaginative concept is given a chance to flourish. We’re not just envisioning the future; we’re actively crafting it by turning bold ideas into successful realities.
3: Could you share more about your journey and experience at Textron?
Absolutely, my time at Textron has been an incredible adventure. I started in the Leadership Development Program which gave me the opportunity to explore different aspects of the enterprise nationwide, working within three distinct business units. My roles have ranged from the flight test organization to program management, and now I’m deeply involved in special missions engineering.
4: How has your career path influenced your current managerial role?
Each position I’ve held at Textron Aviation has been instrumental in honing my leadership skills and ability to drive change, even before I took on direct team leadership. These roles have been key in building my managerial expertise, providing me with the insights and experiences needed to thrive in my current role.
5: Can you talk about how you manage and support your team?
When leading my team at Textron Aviation, I make it a priority to embrace the diverse perspectives of each team member. It’s vital to support and empower them, recognizing their unique contributions. Our people are our greatest asset, and fostering an environment where they feel supported is key to our success.
6: What’s the next big idea in your industry from an engineering perspective?
We are always listening to our customers and exploring new opportunities. Textron Aviation has been a leader in business and general aviation for nearly 100 years and we will continue to use innovation to support our customers and their missions.
