Networking Opened the Door to a New Career Path
When Megan and her husband decided to relocate, it created the opportunity for a career move she had been working toward for years. The relationships she had built across Textron led her to the Talent Management team at Corporate, a role that aligned with both her professional goals and her family’s next chapter.
BUILDING A NETWORK ACROSS TEXTRON
Before joining Corporate, Megan spent most of her career as a human resources business partner (HRBP) at Bell, partnering with leaders and teams to execute talent strategy.
Her Textron journey started even earlier. She joined the company through the Leadership Development Program (LDP), rotating across Bell and Textron Aviation before finding her footing in the HRBP space. The program gave her exposure to two business units, introduced her to leaders across Textron and, unexpectedly, changed her personal life too. It was there that she met her husband.
“I’m just so passionate about being connected to the business,” she said. “I believe that everything HR does should contribute to the bottom line.”
As her career progressed, Megan looked for opportunities to broaden her experience beyond a single business unit. She stepped into a dual role supporting both Bell and Corporate, serving as an HRBP leader at Bell while also supporting Corporate functions such as IT and Finance.
“Building relationships across the enterprise gave me visibility into opportunities I might not have discovered otherwise.”

HOW ENTERPRISE-WIDE NETWORKING OPENED NEW OPPORTUNITIES
When her husband accepted a role on the East Coast, the timing aligned with a move they had been planning for years. While it was a personal decision, it also became an opportunity for Megan to take the next step in her Textron career.
By leveraging the network she had built across the enterprise, Megan explored opportunities that matched both her experience and future goals. Those connections ultimately led her to transition into her current role at Corporate, where she now focuses on enterprise performance management, talent review and succession planning.
“I knew it was important for my development, since I’d been an HRBP for so long, and talent management was one of the areas I was most interested in,” she said.
A MOVE THAT WORKED FOR CAREER AND FAMILY
Having already worked closely with Corporate through her previous role, the transition felt like a natural next step. Now, she brings a business unit perspective to an enterprise-facing team.
“We saw this coming for a long time, and everyone we talked to was so supportive,” she added. “We were able to be in a location that worked for our family and still both have great career opportunities.”
